As summer gracefully transitions into fall, Niagara USA welcomes the season with its bountiful harvest and knows how to have fun with it. Crisp autumn days, wholesome fun, and plenty of activities for the entire family occupy the calendar during the fall months in Niagara USA.
River Region
Scarecrow Display
From October 1 – 31, view artistic interpretations of scarecrows as they welcome and enchant visitors along the main streets of the quaint river communities. Find them at any of the below locations.
Along Center Street in Lewiston
Along Main Street in Youngstown
Along Rt. 93 near Ransomville Road
Along Buffalo Street in Sanborn
In addition to scarecrow gazing, stop a one of our roadside produce stands or pick your own, star-gaze in the orchards from the back of a hay wagon, treasure hunt in our antique stores, hide out in a corn maze, visit haunted historic castle, tour a winery, take away homemade treats from a church bizarre. Falls Region
Oktoberfest

Enjoy great German beer, wine and food and live music. Visit the KIDTOBERFEST Kids Zone including a petting soon, craft stations, and more. Lake Region
Becker Farms & Vizcarra Vineyards, 3724 Quaker Road, Gasport, NY 14067
This fall, participate in the harvest at Becker Farms, and celebrate the beginning of the fall harvest season by spending a beautiful day there. Pick fresh Macintosh apples, ride a pony, hop on a hayride or pet animals in the zoo. The brewery and winery are also open for the adults.
The Johnny Appleseed Festival will take place September 8 – 9 and is fun for the whole family. Pony rides, hayrides, and music by Lakeside Blues Band. Chicken BBQ, fresh apples at the market stand or U-pick, and both the winery and brewery will be open.
A terrific way to embrace the harvest season is with the Annual Pumpkin Fiesta, a great activity for those 12 and under to make memories with their parents and grandparents. Open from noon – 5pm, September 15 – 16, 22-23, 29 and 30; and October 6-7, 13-14, 20-21, and 27-28.
The great Pumpkin Fiesta is a fun family activity that the kids will remember. FREE live music from 1-4pm, wine tasting is $2 and beer tasting $5. Food is available in the cantina and café. Enjoy food, including Becker’s famous chicken BBQ and ribs. All events are weather permitting and include:
Hillbilly Bob's "Pig Rock Derby" Pig Races with music, laughter, and prizes for the whole family. Pig races are at noon, 2 and 4pm.

Becker Mountain – Thrust from the depth of the earth, Becker Mountain towers over Becker Farms and Vizcarra Vineyards to provide fun for the whole family. Climb to the summit and take a crack at your aiming skills with a super sling shot, or take in a gorgeous view of the estate. Heights not your thing? Then sit back and relax next to our new duck pond found at the base camp of Becker Mountain.
The New Corn Maze – A time honored traditional, located behind the Labyrinth and Becker Mountain.
Haunted hayrides from 7 – 9pm on weekends in October (weather permitting).

Harvest Fest
Celebrate the season with wine and food pairings on the fastest growing wine trail in the country, the Niagara Wine Trail. Tickets are valid September 7 – 9 and include wine tasting at each participating winery, one food sample and a commemorative glass. Learn how to make pizzelles and what wine to pair with them. Taste fresh tomato basil roll-ups at Niagara Landing, and dare to try their seasonal Hot Pepper Wine!
Harvest bread, goat cheese, locally harvested apples, Swiss cheese wrapped with Parma prosciutto – a sweet, crisp, nutty, smoky and salty, savory delight; and don’t forget to stop by Eveningside Vineyards for pumpkin cupcakes paired with their Reserve Chardonnay.
