Jim & Pam get married in Niagara Falls USA

Characters Pam (Jenna Fischer) and Jim (John Krasinski)  from the show The Office filmed their wedding in Niagara Falls USA at the end of August.  Local tourism officials were invited to watch the taping of The Office wedding at Niagara Falls State Park and at the Red Coach Inn (re-named Statler Falls Hotel).

Niagara Falls State Park and the Hard Rock Cafe will hold a public viewing of The Office 2-hour wedding special on October 8, 2009 at 333 Prospect Point.  Seating begins at 7p.m. Reservations are recommended, (716) 282-0007.

Weddings and Honeymoons in Niagara Falls have been quite popular.  There is some reason to believe that the mist from the Niagara Falls produces negative ions.  These negative ions serve as an aphrodisiac and have been thought to have healing powers.  However, many of these stories are just folklore because there hasn’t been a lot of scientific research done on the negative ions in Niagara Falls.

Jim and Pam chose Niagara Falls to hold their wedding, not because of the negative ions but, because it reminded Pam of when she was younger.  In episode 2 of season 6, Pam also noted that while they invited everyone from the office to their wedding, they didn’t really want anyone to come.  Niagara Falls was ideal because it was far away enough so that most people couldn’t make the drive.  However, Michael Scott (played by Steve Carell) said that he would give everyone Friday and Monday off if they went to the wedding.  So, who shows upto Jim and Pam’s Niagara Falls wedding? You’ll have to watch to find out.  The show will air on October 8 on NBC.
