1. Unique food. From Viola’s Submarines on Military Road, to DiCamillo’s Italian Bakery, to Colosso Taco to family owned restaurants on Pine Avenue, you will experience unique restaurants and eateries with rich history that have been around for generations.

2. Parrot Man. You can catch him in Niagara Falls State Park with his bicycle, crackers, and pet parrot. Seriously.

Joe and Sophie

Joe and Sophie

A couple of us from the office went to Sophie’s Pita and Grill at 7560 Niagara Falls Blvd. in Niagara Falls. Owned by Sophie and Joe, the restaurant serves Greek and Mediterranean cuisine. They’ve only been open for two weeks and already have seen a decent amount of customers. The couple moved to the United States from Israel about 20 years ago and up until recently owned Pita Grill in the Fashion Outlets of Niagara falls mall.

The restaurant was quaint, but very clean, and the food was delicious. We tried the Chicken Souvlaki, Chicken Vegetable Soup, and Homemade Baklava. The baklava was the best baklava I’ve ever had. I understand that’s a bold statement, but I have yet to find one better. The cost is reasonable, $5.25 for most pitas, $4.95 for salads, and $1.75 for baklava.  Tell Joe and Sophie we sent ya!
