1. Unique food. From Viola’s Submarines on Military Road, to DiCamillo’s Italian Bakery, to Colosso Taco to family owned restaurants on Pine Avenue, you will experience unique restaurants and eateries with rich history that have been around for generations.
2. Parrot Man. You can catch him in Niagara Falls State Park with his bicycle, crackers, and pet parrot. Seriously.

3. Wine. With over a dozen wineries in the Niagara Region and even a bar devoted to wine (Wine on Third in downtown Niagara Falls) you know it has to be plentiful and delicious!
4. Negative Ions. Although there isn’t a lot of science to back this up, it made the list any way. It is believed that the mist from the Niagara Falls creates negative ions increase levels of the mood chemical serotonin, helping to alleviate depression, relieve stress, and boost our daytime energy. No wonder why everyone is always so chipper.
5. Indian Restaurants. There are a lot. Seven to be exact and they’re all within a 1 mile radius. Naan anyone?

6. Basketball. Stellar athletic programs at Niagara University and Niagara Falls High School have earned top awards in championships like the 2007 MACC win that got NU a spot at the NCAA Tournament. 6th pick in the 2009 NBA Draft went to Niagara Falls native and former Niagara Falls High School player, Jonny Flynn who now plays for the Minnesota Timberwolves.
7. Rainbows. We have tons of rainbows—without all of those pesky leprechauns!
8. Power. Niagara Falls is the second largest power producer in the United States.
9. Sweet History. The history of Old Fort Niagara spans more than 300 years. You can tour and view artifacts from the 18th and 19th centuries.
10. Horses. Not real ones, but Niagara USA is home to the invention of the Carrousel. The Herschell Carrousel Factory Museum houses original and replica carrousels. You can even go for a ride.
11. People. We’re home to some characters, but we love them all the same. Enough said.
12. Aged to perfection. Niagara Falls is America’s oldest state park. 2010 marks its 125th birthday.
13. Water. About 750,000 gallons of water flow over the Niagara Falls each second. That’s about 3,160 tons. If we did our math correctly.

14. Birds. Well, we don’t necessarily love them all the time. Especially in the spring. Any way, the Niagara River supports thousands of wintering gull and waterfowl species. And we mean thousands.
15. Ghosts. Hey, it may freak you out but the ghosts were on the SciFi Channel’s Ghost Hunters at Marjim Manor. They’re famous that’s why we love them.
16. Seasons. We get all four. Take that Florida.
17. Annie Edson Taylor. First woman to survive going over the falls in a barrel. With her cat AND she was 63. She did it for fame and fortune, but died penniless. Tough break.
18. Concerts. There are over one hundred free concerts every year. Who doesn’t love free?
