Big names, musical stage spectacular, visual arts, and family fun
Summer is right around the corner and a sure sign of summer is the annual announcement of Artpark’s highly anticipated Summer Season. The popular performing and visual arts destination is offering a full menu of outdoor concerts, a dazzling Broadway Musical production, visual arts exhibits, sculpture installations, summer camps, Mainstage Theater events, and a plethora of family fun!
Artpark’s second annual FAIRY HOUSE FESTIVAL is the perfect day for families to get together and get creative. Returning on June 9 and 10from Noon-5pm each day, the Fairy House Festival is an event filled with art activities, hundreds of Fairy Houses locally designed by schools, scout troops, and community youth groups, special dance performances, artist -created exhibit of Fairy Houses, storytelling and more magical surprises!
Each year Artpark keeps audiences on the edge of their seats anticipating who will be headlining the FIRST NIAGARA presents TUESDAY IN THE PARK (June 19-September 4) outdoor concert series. The 12 week series features the best in classic and contemporary rock and in a new format, the Tuesday concerts will require a general admission ticket to access the newly renovated outdoor amphitheater.

The COORS LIGHT WEDNESDAY (June 20-August 1) will remain a free concert series and will bring a pumped up line up of reggae royalty, Canadian rockers, and jam band kings for six concert nights (No concert on July 4) in Artpark’s Outdoor Amphitheater.

The newest Theater concert series in Artpark’s busy summer schedule, “SUNDAYS IN JULY” will kick off July 8 and run for four consecutive Sundays through July 29 with shows at 3pm in the Mainstage Theater.

The ARTPARK ART GALLERY located on the Mainstage Theater plaza, will have several exhibits throughout the summer beginning with the Fairy Houses created by regional artists from June 11-29. The Fairy House Exhibit will open at the Burchfield Penney Art Center July 9 and will remain through July 22. The Artpark Artists exhibit will be featured in the gallery from July 3-July 31 and will feature pieces from contemporary visual arts staff at Artpark. The gallery will host an artist reception on July 8 (Noon-2pm). TheNiagara Art Cultural Center’s (NACC) exhibit will run from August 6-September 14 and will be hosting an opening on August 9 from 5pm-7pm. The gallery will be open Tuesdays and Wednesdays 10-4pm, July 7-28 (Saturdays) Noon-4pm and for Mainstage Theater Events . Admission to the gallery is free. The successful outdoor sculpture competition, EDGES III returns to the park and features seven spectacular works of art displayed throughout Artpark for public viewing. Regional artists’ works will be installed on May 27 with the winner being announced on July 8 at the Artpark Artists Reception at the Artpark Gallery. All seven works will remain on display until September 14.
It’s never too late to learn a new craft, and here is your opportunity to discover a hobby, brush up on a technique, or master a skill at Artpark’s new ADULT ART WORKSHOPS. Registration is now underway.

Don’t be late for the ball! Artpark is proud to present Rodgers & Hammerstein’s “CINDERELLA” for eight enchanting performances August 9-17. The perfect summer theater outing for all ages, Artpark brings the charm of this classic fairy tale and the magical music of Rodgers & Hammerstein to life in a stage spectacular! With incredible scenery created for the New York City Opera and talented performers from all over the U.S., Artpark’s production will be directed by Randall Kramer, choreographed by Anne Beck, and musical direction by Jason Bravo.

Every Saturday in July, Artpark presents FREE FAMILY SATURDAYS (July 7-July 28)offering visitors the unique opportunity to enjoy delightful live performances at 2pm and partake in a collection of art workshops under the guidance of professional artists. Activities, including the Costume Closet, Paint Space, the pottery wheel, still-life drawing and temporary tattooing, all tailored toward a particular theme for families to enjoy together each week in the Outdoor Amphitheater. Admission and parking are free!

Each summer, Artpark invites all young artists, musicians, and theater buffs togra enroll in one of the venue’s week-long CAMPS (July-August) Returning camps include three week-long sessions of Art Camp, one special week of Theater Camp, Rock Camp returns for two sessions, as well as the successful Advanced Art Camp for high school students. This summer, Artpark will introduce a Celtic Music Camp for young musicians interested in learning traditional Celtic music styles.

Theater Camp runs Monday-Friday from 9am-3pm, all other camps take place Monday-Friday from 9am- 4pm. Enrollment is limited as one-on-one instruction is emphasized.
Grab your chairs and flashlights and head to Artpark’s Outdoor Amphitheater on the evening of August 13th (at dusk) for the 5th annual FREE FAMILY MOVIE NIGHT: The Muppets! The whole family will love watching The Muppets latest adventure on the big Jumbotron screen under the stars! The Lewiston Kiwanis Club proudly sponsors this wonderful family evening event.
