Niagara Falls, N.Y.- The Conference Center Niagara Falls is hosting a commemorative September 11 exhibition throughout the month of September, as part of a statewide initiative.
As part of a statewide commemoration and remembrance of the 10th anniversary of tragic September 11 attacks in New York City, the New York State Museum will host “New York Remembers” exhibitions in 30 locations across New York, including Niagara Falls.
The Conference Center Niagara Falls (Conference Center Niagara Falls, 101 Old Falls Street, Niagara Falls, N.Y., 14303. www.niagarafalls-cc.com) will be home to the exhibit, which is aimed at remembering the victims of September 11 and honor the countless heroes who came from across the nation to aid in the clean up and recovery efforts.
At the Conference Center Niagara Falls, artifacts on display include an engine turbine from one of the planes that were flown into the World Trade Center, an exterior sheathing from the Towers, various smaller items including a fireman's ax, marble from the World Trade Center Plaza and an eduational timeline of events.
The display is free and open to the public. The Conference Center is open from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday to Friday and is open on weekends when a conference, convention or event is taking place.
“These exhibitions will give New Yorkers in towns, villages and cities all across the state a gathering place to one again stand as one community to make sure we never forget those who lost their lives on September 11,” New York State Governor Andrew M. Cuomo said of the exhibition.
