Niagara Falls, N.Y.- Big win sends Niagara USA to social media conference in Rochester, N.Y., for free!
My family always said I’m the lucky one and I guess that holds true with the news I recently received through Twitter.
Last week, I was informed of Social Share Summit, a social media conference being held Wednesday in Rochester, N.Y.
As I browsed the website, my eyes lit up like a little kid on Christmas when I saw the headline, “Win a Ticket!” The contest, of course had a deadline, which had already passed, so I hopped on Twitter to see who the lucky winners were. To my surprise, the deadline was extended giving me an opportunity to join the fun!
What did I have to do to earn the free ticket? Promote the event on Twitter, re-tweet other tweets, and if I felt ambitious, write a blog. Count me in! After a week of being “social” and attempting to write my first blog, the winners were finally announced, @NiagaraFallsUSA and @RandyHartHomes, a real estate agent and our neighbor to the North.
I was not only thrilled I won, but also very excited to attend my first social media conference!
With social media constantly evolving and playing a large role in the marketing efforts at the Niagara Tourism and Convention Corp., I am hoping to return back to work with innovative ideas and maybe even new Twitter followers and Facebook fans!
