Nutcracker_Pictured_from_left_Aniko_Nagy_Spanish_offers_dance_advice_to_Tatum_McLean_Clara..jpgAfter weeks of rehearsals, the Greater Niagara Ballet Company (GNBC) is ready to present its 35th annual production of “The Nutcracker” this weekend, at the Performing Arts Center (Niagara Falls High School).

Under the artistic direction of Beverly Feder, FISTD, FCUSA, FICIA, dancers from the Niagara USA community and Canada will perform at 7:30pm Friday, Dec. 7; 2pm and 7:30pm Saturday, Dec. 8. Tickets are available at various Tim Hortons locations or D’Amico Music in Niagara Falls; Half Moon Bay Restaurant in North Tonawanda; Orange Cat Coffee Co., or Village Bake Shoppe in Lewiston; and Camp Bow Wow in Tonawanda. The Canadian ticket outlet is located at Danceworks in Niagara Falls, Ontario. Pending availability tickets may be purchased at the door. Admission is $15 for adults, $10 for students and seniors, and $40 for a family pack (two adults and two students).

For over 40 years, the GNBC (formerly the Niagara Civic Ballet) has been providing local dancers with the unique and rewarding opportunity of developing their talents in a professional theatrical setting, working with professional dancers from all parts of the world. Through workshops and performances, the students develop an understanding and appreciation of the ballet arts.

Don’t miss this community and holiday favorite, while supporting a Niagara USA institution that has put the Niagara region on the map as a high quality ballet center.
