Maid of the Mist

Thinking about coming to Niagara USA?  Here is a first-hand account on taking the Maid of the Mist boat ride.  A travel writer from England recently visited the Niagara region and the Niagara Tourism and Convention Corporation had an opportunity to show him around the city. Our first stop was the Maid of the Mist where we were greeted by wonderful state parks employees. Before going to the loading dock we went to the Observation Tower and viewed the Niagara Falls from an elevated deck. After taking a look at the magnificent power of the falls from above, it was time to get up close and personal. We took an elevator to the loading dock and put on our blue souvenir ponchos.

Before we knew it we were getting a little misted, and then, as the boat bobbed in the water right next to the falls, we were suddenly soaked. It was the most fun I have had in a while and our travel writer had his poncho hood down and was soaking in the glory. The Maid of the Mist is a must see for any traveler and visitor to the Niagara Falls. Even Brad Pitt and his sons took a ride in April.

You can purchase tickets to the Maid of the Mist iondividually or along with the Discovery Pass.  The Discovery Pass includes admission into the Maid of the Mist, Cave of the Winds, Aquarium of Niagara, Niagara Adventure Theater, Niagara Gorge Discovery Center, and Niagara Scenic Trolly.
