Niagara USA, where history, nature, geology and much more abound, is the perfect destination for Scout Groups. Many of our attractions have Scout Badge programs available along with offering unique and memorable experiences for the group.

This collection of diversified Niagara County artifacts is housed in six buildings and includes items from the Erie Canal, pioneer days, the Civil War, farming and more!

What’s Available?

Many options are available for groups with varying age levels and badge requirements. Customizable programs are offered to fit the needs of the group.

Experience a unique two-hour cruise which includes "locking through" and being raised the 49 ft. elevation of the Niagara Escarpment in the only double set of locks on the Erie Canal.

What’s Available?

Badges for Architecture, Engineering, Inventing, and Pioneering. Willing to work with troop leader to meet their group’s needs for badges.

Program Fees:

$8 per Scout; $11 for accompanying adult. *Please have tax exempt number when making reservation.

A historical, fun, guided 70-minute tour through America’s past, viewing the Erie Canal Locks, walking through a 1600 foot water-power tunnel blasted out of solid rock.

What’s Available?

Full boat ride and walking tour of the cave along with the chance to earn badges in Geology and/or History.

Niagara Region Park Interpretive Programs

Scout badge programs are available year-round for Boy Scout Troops in any area of outdoor and environmental education.

What’s Available?

Boy Scouts/Girl Scouts: We provide assistance for boy scouts seeking merit badges in Environmental Science, Geology, Nature, Orienteering and Hiking.

Webelos GEOLOGY Badge: participation in this program covers all of the needed requirements for the badge.

Webelos FORESTER and NATURALIST Badges: participation in these programs covers most of the needed requirements for each badge.

Other suitable recreational activities:

Snowshoeing, Animal Study, Bird Study, Insect Study, Ecology Study, Outdoor Education, Local History Programs, Hiking and Nature Centers.

Program Fees:

5 - 35 participants = $ 30 

36 - 65 participants = $ 60

66 - 100 participants = $ 105 Each additional person over 100 is $1

Fun down to a science! The NYPA Niagara Power Project’s Power Vista features more then 50 interactive exhibits about hydroelectricity and an observation deck perched 350 feet above the Niagara River Gorge.

What’s Available?

A guided tour of the facility to learn about the basics of hydroelectricity, energy conservation and electrical safety.

Earn a patch at the annual Wildlife Festival held in September each year after completing a 10 step scavenger hunt.

*Will work with troop leaders to customize specific tours to meet badge requirements.

What’s Available?

“A Day & Night at the Fort” - providing an educational and enjoyable experience based on the daily life of soldiers in the garrison circa 250 years ago. Participants will rotate between several activities including Infantry Drill with wooden muskets, Artillery & Fortification Training, Cooking & Baking, and Fatigue Duties.

*This program has been used to fulfill merit badge requirements and can be customized to fit the groups specific needs

Program Fees:

$40 per student (includes overnight stay). 1 pm – 11 am.
*General group admission: Under 18, 12 or more: $5

Scout groups are among the list of groups invited to participate in the “Fairy House Festival,” in June 2014 by building creative Fairy Houses to be put on display during the festival. Houses on display will be judged and cash prizes will be awarded to the top 3 houses.
